Fairtrade Workshop & Assembly
Last week, pupils from Class 3 took part in an informative workshop, presented by and Albert - a local business from Chester who actively support craftspeople within their village communities, particularly in West Africa and Asia. During the workshop, we looked at four different countries where interesting and usual items are made, by hand, in a very delicate process. We had the opportunity to experiment with some of the traditional instruments which have been made and we looked closely at the craftsmanship and detail that has gone into these beautiful items.
After our fantastic workshop, the whole school attended a special assembly, which was presented by and Albert.
We now have a selection of small gifts and musical instruments for purchase in Class 3. All of the purchases in aid of this brilliant cause will enable and Albert to continue the good work that they are doing - visiting schools to deliver workshops on buying Fairtrade and raising awareness of the process and the hard work that goes into the crafting of some of these products.
Over the next week, Miss Porter will have the items in her classroom for sale. If you child would like to have a look at the items or make any purchases, this can be done at lunchtimes or at the end of the day. It is recommended that children wanting to purchase an item bring no more than £5 with them.
